Prayer for Pastor Cal

[Hbr 12:1-2 NKJV] 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares [us], and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of [our] faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This is the verses I taught on tonight as the church gathered together at the midweek study. With all the events of the day we are certainly looking to Jesus to be our guide!

Pastor Cal got home from he hospital late tonight. The stone was very large and embedded in the lining of his kidney. He also had a very bad infection as a result of the blockage. The doctors could not get the stone out completely and so they put a stint in to allow the pieces to pass from the kidney to the bladder. He has a long road ahead of him recovery wise so please keep him in prayer. He will have to have another procedure in a month to remove the stint.

Otherwise the team has done incredibly well and adapts well to every schedule change and fluctuations. There is great unity amongst the team so keep up your prayers. These are all servants with a real heart for the Lord. Pray for physical strength as it is very hot and humid here.

Tomorrow we leave for an overnight trip to San Juan De Limay, a small village about 4 hours from Managua where we helped to rebuild homes and saw a church birthed literally out of the rubble of hurricane Mitch in 1998. I am so excited to see Pastor Vicente whom I haven’t seen in over 10 years.

We may not be able to give out updates tomorrow or Friday because of traveling and being in a remote village. Keep up the prayer!

In Christ,

Pastor Gary Kusunoki
