Jeremiah 8:21 (NKJV) 21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. I am mourning; Astonishment has taken hold of me.
My heart is broken after the last meeting that I attended this morning. We were at a World Food Program transport meeting in a room full of hardened relief workers, military and UN officials. During the meeting the floor was given to the chairman of the local mountain association. With a voice full of emotion and eyes full of tears he told us of his people in remote mountain villages near the epicenter. He told us of thousands of people stranded without food and shelter. In most of these villages 95-100% of the houses were totally destroyed. The people were living out in the open in sub-zero temperatures at night. Without intervention and with the rainy season rapidly approaching the situation for them is very bleak.
Please pray for the people of Nepal. The situation is not getting better for the people. The earthquake danger has passed but now it is a race against the clock to get them the help that they need.
The US has already forgotten what happened here just 12 days ago. It is old news but the people here are still crying out now.
More than anything they need the hope of Jesus Christ in their lives. God is opening so many doors yet the need is tremendous. Pray that God will provide the resources to meet those needs.
