Things are going well here. Steve and I have been so busy in meetings and doing all the logistics that we feel like we have lived a lifetime in 6 days. The team has been able to deliver about four thousand pounds of relief supplies (tarps for protection from the rain, rice, lentils and oil). Tomorrow we are flying by helicopter to a small village about 3 1/2 miles from the epicenter. 200 families lived there and everyone of their houses was completely destroyed in the quake. They are in desperate need and the only aid that has reached them was 30 tarps about 4 days ago that was dropped from a helicopter. Most of their food stores was buried in the rubble of the quake. We will be the first relief team on the ground since the earthquake. We are bringing 200 tarps, 400 sleeping mats and about 1000 pounds of food. We will be doing four rotations with the helicopter throughout the day.
We should be taking off right as the Saturday evening service begins. It’s already starting to rain so pray for safe flights and all the supplies to make it as scheduled. Thank you all for your prayers. We really fell them.
