|Greetings from Team Uganda,
The team is all doing well. Pretty tired from 29 hours of travel but none the worse for wear. We have been joined by Pastor David Grisanti and his wife Debbie. David will be helping me teach at the conference and Debbie and Carol will share with the wives. Rajiv from Nepal and Wesley from India also joined our team.
We are all checked in to our hotel overlooking Lake Victoria (the view is nice the room is okay). Thank you all for praying for us. We got all 55 pieces of luggage safely to Uganda (that’s a miracle in itself) and then passed through customs without a problem. The customs officer only stopped me. He asked who we were and what we were doing in Uganda. I told him we were with a church in America and a Christian humanitarian aid group called Anchored International Relief. I told him we came to share the love of Christ with the people of Uganda. He replied, “Thank you for coming. You are most welcome. You may pass.” With that we were through customs! Tomorrow begins our work in ernest with the Senior Pastor’s and Wives conference beginning and the bulk of the team heading to Soroti to begin the ministry there.
Please pray for us to get over jet lag quickly and for strength. Pray that we will strengthen and encourage the pastors and their wives. Pray for those we will be sharing the Gospel with that their eyes and hearts will be open.
These are some of the thoughts and verses Tiny shared today.
Prov 16:1 – 1 The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
|2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the spirits.
|3 Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
It is so easy to believe that this trip begins and ends with us. We have our plans and strategies but we must be reliant on the Lord.
2 Cor 1:12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
We must remember that we are a witness for Him wherever we go.
2 Cor 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
We must also remember that as we go into those areas where the people don’t know the Lord but in some cases hate his name.
2 Cor. 5:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
Onward we go!
