Nepal post

Today was our first full day in Kathmandu, and after our long trip here, we were all grateful that God allowed it to be a day of rest and preparation. Kathmandu is a city teaming with life, and it’s been exciting to finally be here. We spent our morning devotion time together as a team discussing the heart behind missions in preparation for our trip. Heather shared about how we have to surrender everything to God and allow Him live through us.

The main focus of our first few days in Kathmandu is to come alongside and encourage the long term missionaries who are already here. We spent most of today with Tenile and Punkage (spelling?) who are one of the couples that help lead the Calvary Chapel Bible College here in Kathmandu. We were able to spend some time exploring the city with them and hearing about how life has been for them here.

This evening was the highlight of everyone’s day. We got to visit and bring dinner to an orphanage sponsored by Promise Child. The orphanage is a girl’s home and houses twelve beautiful little girls. All of them were so excited to show us around their home. The team members who had visited the orphanage on past trips were so impressed to see how the girls have grown and blossomed in their personalities as they have settled into their new home. They made us feel so welcomed, and it was such a joy to spend time with them.

This is my first time in Nepal, and I am so excited to see what God has for our team over the next few days. Please pray that we would stay focused on Him, that He would make it clear where He wants us to be doing ministry, and that His love would be shining through us.

In Him,

Danielle Pelletier
