Today was another wonderful day in Greece. We went to another refuge center in Lavrio about 30 minuets outside of Athens. I had the opportunity to share the gospel with two beautiful young women.
One was named Shririn and she was a beautiful 18 year old. I had her read John 3:16-18 and shared Romans 3:23 we talked about God’s love and plan for her life, she said, “plan for me, He has a plan for me?” She could speak some English, read and understand a little bit of English. I told her I didn’t know what God had planned for her, but that He had the free gift of eternal life with Him. I explained about sin and the wages of sin being death, but Jesus wanted to take our place and pay the price for our sin. She started to cry and I was able to wipe her tears and tell her that God loved her so much that He brought me from America just to meet her and tell her about Jesus. We held hands, hugged and cried together as I read the Word of God to her. Another young woman I had been sharing with and who had told me that she only came to the center to learn English and was not interested in hearing about Jesus came and started talking and coaxing her away from me. I asked her if she wanted to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior, she said no. I told her to remember the things I had shared and that even though she didn’t understand everything I was saying that she could come to Jesus just as she was and that He would show her the way and guide her into all truth. This young woman is here alone with her uncle trying to get to Sweden to join her two brothers and their family. Her mother and father are in Turkey waiting to go to Sweden as well. I know that God watered some seeds today as she has others telling her that Jesus loves her and my hope is the one day I will meet her again in heaven.
Our time here in Greece has been an amazingly rich time of not only refreshing my knowledge of the Greek culture and a better understanding of the New Testament, but to see our team drinking in the Word of God.
(Ps. 42:1-2 As the deer pants for the water brooks , so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for you God, for the living God.) is joy that will be forever hidden in my heart. What a privilege it is to be a child of God and to share His love with our family in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
