Turkey Walk Impressions

Today we went out in small groups into the community around Calvary Chapel Soroti to meet some of the people on the Turkey Loan Program. Our first stop was at the hut of Marita, an elderly woman who lives alone. She had four daughters and three sons but all the daughters had died and one son has HIV/Aids. She was so happy to see us and was grateful that we would come so far to visit her. We talked for about an hour of her life and challenges but she remained positive and grateful to God for His mercies. Her main concern was for her granddaughter who has malaria and is very ill. We prayed with her and she seemed very encouraged. She attends the Calvary Chapel at Soroti and was looking forward to seeing us there on Sunday. > John Harrell
